![]() My Prayer-Poem for the 36th Day of Lent, Wednesday 24 March 2021 The Commemoration of Oscar Romero, Archbishop of San Salvador, Martyr, 1980 ROMERO Body broken, blood outpoured was what Romero brought that day. The presence of our Lord in simple things, bread, wine and human hands. And, stained by sin, those simple people there, forgiv’n by purest blood, the Spotless Lamb. And, as he stood there in that holy hour with Christ and with the words of Life; and arms outstretched and chalice raised and heaven to earth conjoined, he raised the poor. Then might and fearful fury was mustered to the front where bell and thurible rang out redemption’s song. A sudden salvo rang, hot metal pierced his flesh and in that holy place, midst holy things, hate raged and love was crucified afresh. ©️Mark Andrew Smith #the100dayproject #KingsSchoolsTaunton #PrayAPoem #DioceseBathWells #WoodardSchools
