![]() A SONG OF ST PATRICK, BISHOP OF IRELAND I can hear the joyful singing of a thousand voices sweet making music on this Island in the town and city street; I can see a thousand people running joyfully to greet Christ Jesus when he comes. From my painful bed of bondage I can see them overhead, while I suffer on this Island and my blood is running red. I can see a nation rising for the honour of the dead and Jesus when he comes. I can see a crowd of children on this ancient Irish hill; I can hear the hymns they’re singing ‘midst the sedge and daffodil And they pray that precious souls will rise, the gospel to fulfil of Jesus when he comes. I’ll return, if God decrees it, with a missionary song and when anger breeds destruction I will work to end the wrong. And this nation, by the grace of God, will rise with faith and strong in Jesus when he comes. ©️Mark Andrew Smith #the100dayproject #KingsSchoolsTaunton #PrayAPoem #DioceseBathWells #WoodardSchools
