Well, we’re standing on the crossroads
in this year of ’21
and the time for Neoliberals
seems by all accounts quite done.
This pandemic brings a moment;
we must strategize with haste!
As the saying goes, “don’t ever
let a crisis go to waste!”.
We should shun the ones who’re basking
in self-righteousness who say
that the wrath of God’s behind it
or a Chinese trick’s at play.
We’ll be skeptical and question
those who confidently croon
that at last we’ll learn the art of love
and free money will be strewn.
No, instead we’ll seek new ways to live
with more kindness and with care,
so that profit and the power of greed
by rich and millionaire
is more fairly spread around the world
and especially, we pray,
bring innovative strategies,
a brighter, fairer way.
