![]() Where is God? “Seek ye the things that are above” wrote Paul to Colossae; and earthly things, they matter not, he wanted to imply. But did he really mean to say that things material don’t matter any more or less, tainted because they’re real? How far beyond the things of earth is Christ at God’s right hand? How far from mobile phones or bread do his dear angels stand? Must we ignore hunger and pain to journey to that star? Leave poor and homeless destitute and scale the heights - how far? As far as understanding is from words or love from rose, as far as music is from sound, as poetry from prose. As far as joy from ecstasy, as logic is from truth, as far as beer from drunkenness and passion is from youth, as far as Jazz from Dave Brubeck as Banksy is from paints, as outward signs to sacraments, as holy lives from saints. As far as two young lovers lips, as flutters from a kiss, so far is God from things of earth, so far that world from this. ©️Mark Andrew Smith #the100dayproject #KingsTaunton #PrayAPoem
