Today is an Ember Day when we give thanks for all God's gifts, are reminded to use them responsibly, and we also pray for new vocations to the ordained ministry. Ember days are the first Wednesday, Friday and Saturday after the Feast of St Lucy (13 December), Ash Wednesday, Pentecost and Holy Cross Day.
First Wednesday, Friday, Saturday of “Lucy, Ashes, Cross and Dove” we keep a holy Ember Day of thanks to God above. We ask for Grace to use His gifts with care and love for all things dear and pray for those God’s calling now to full time service here. Lord, on this day, tomorrow too, I thank you for life’s bounty store and pray for new vocations in your Church for evermore. ©️Mark Andrew Smith #the100dayproject #KingsTaunton #PrayAPoem
