My prayer poem for Monday 19 April 2021
(Alphege, Archbishop of Canterbury, Martyr 1012) St Alphege chose simplicity and shunned a life of ease, choosing instead the hermit’s way; service on bended knees. And when the call to greatness came, with Archiepiscopal gains, he would not give a ransom when captured by the Danes. So he was martyred brutally and treated as the cursed and with an axe they killed him, of Archbishops the first. ©️Mark Andrew Smith #the100dayproject #KingsSchoolsTaunton #PrayAPoem #DioceseBathWells #WoodardSchools http://www.mind-friends.com/poems-for-the-100-day-project
