My Prayer-Poem for Easter Monday, 5 April 2021
(Second poem for the Easter Octave) The Easter Way With Easter eyes we navigate life’s complicated way: the doctor’s text about the scan which spoilt a holiday, the daughter’s call in tears because her husband lost his job, a dear friend testing positive after a Covid swab. In joy and sadness, risen Lord, we walk in step with You; You are the camber as we wend life’s twisting avenue. Save us from humanistic schemes cambered by our own toil or trying to live “more mindfully”, a cure-all balm or oil. Less “me” and “my”, be that our pledge walking the Easter way and more compassion in our world of vexing disarray. O risen Jesus, as you pledged, Your Spirit freely flowed; be our companion, be for us the camber on our road. ©️Mark Andrew Smith
